GATE Institute at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) have launched a joint initiative to develop and test a chatbot prototype designed to support applicants, beneficiaries, and stakeholders of the Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps.
The initiative is implemented through InnovationAmp, the European Digital Innovation Hub, and is part of a portfolio of free services offered to public organisations for the adoption and testing of innovative digital solutions in real-world environments. Within the project, GATE will provide expertise in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and the development of intelligent digital tools aimed at supporting the modernisation of public services.
The chatbot is expected to provide faster and easier access to information related to the programmes managed by HRDC by answering frequently asked questions and helping users navigate application procedures and participation opportunities. The solution will be tested in a real-world setting to evaluate its effectiveness and potential for future development.
Beyond improving user experience, the project will enable the analysis of recurring enquiries and help identify the topics that generate the greatest interest or difficulty for users. This will support more informed planning of communication and administrative processes.
The collaboration between GATE and HRDC demonstrates how scientific expertise and technological innovation can be applied to support the public sector. Through the InnovationAmp platform, GATE continues to work with public institutions and organisations to implement data- and AI-driven solutions that improve access to services and support decision-making processes.
