GATE Institute participated in one of the most significant events for young entrepreneurs in the country – the national competition “Best Youth Startup in Bulgaria”, organized by the Fund of Funds and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
The initiative is implemented in partnership with the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University, Founder Institute, the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria, under the patronage of the Minister of Innovation and Growth. The competition is the most significant initiative to support youth entrepreneurship in Bulgaria and aims to increase the entrepreneurial culture of young people, inform about funding opportunities and provide support for the best startups.
This year, GATE participated in the initiative with two key activities. During the final event of the competition, the Institute presented a special award to the Solar Reviver project – a robot for autonomous cleaning of photovoltaic panels. The award includes access to the GATE`s Visualization Lab, expert consultations in areas such as artificial intelligence, big data, autonomous systems and business modeling, as well as access to a virtual computing machine. Through this award, GATE aims to support young entrepreneurs.
Earlier this year, GATE also welcomed the participants of the competition to the Founder’s Café – an open space for meetings between participants, mentors and experts, part of the two-month competition program. With its innovative environment and focus on real-world applications of science, GATE is the natural place where innovation meets business.
