Senior Legal Advisor

Position’s responsibilities

  • Drafts, reviews, and provides opinions on documents related to the application of regulatory and internal institutional acts.
  • Prepares claims, complaints, written defenses, and provides legal representation in court cases initiated by or against GATE Institute.
  • Represents the Institute before the Commission for Protection against Discrimination and the courts under the Protection against Discrimination Act.
  • Drafts and reviews contracts, orders, powers of attorney, declarations, and other legal documents.
  • Participates in the development and updating of rules, regulations, statutes, tariffs, and other internal acts.
  • Takes part in public procurement committees under the Public Procurement Act (PPA), when required.
  • Supports the management of the Institute through legal analyses, opinions, recommendations, and proposals.
  • Provides legal opinions and participates in the drafting and coordination of normative acts regulating the Institute’s activities.
  • Prepares responses and legal opinions to inquiries from institutions, organizations, citizens, and legal entities.
  • Drafts responses to complaints, signals, and requests in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Participates in expert committees and working groups, providing oral and written opinions on legal matters under discussion.
  • Complies with all internal regulations, rules, and acts related to the position.

Position’s requirements

  • Master’s degree in Law;
  • Passed the theoretical and practical examination for acquiring legal capacity at the Ministry of Justice;
  • Good command of English – written and spoken;
  • Experience in a similar position will be considered an advantage;
  • Computer literacy and ability to work with legal information systems and office software;
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills;
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to solve problems in a dynamic environment;

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the strategic and operational aspects of GATE Institute’s business development.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in economics, administration and management, information technologies, or a related field.
  • An additional master’s degree or specialization in business administration will be considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and analyses the landscape of innovative approaches that could significantly contribute to the scientific goals of GATE in the field of advanced data analytics, applied to the four application domains at GATE: Digital Health, Future Cities, Intelligent Government and Smart Industry;
  • Adapts current machine learning research to high consequence real world applications and integrate solutions into practical tool chains;
  • Pursues independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internal and external to the Institute;
  • Presents formal and informal overviews of research progress to peers, sponsors, and stakeholders;
  • Conduct self-initiated research, maintain an awareness of technical literature in assigned areas, publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals, and present results at external conferences, seminars, and/or technical meetings;
  • Contributes to high-quality scientific publications;

Our requirements

  • Junior researcher (R1): А minimum of bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field;
  • Experienced researcher (R2): Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or a master’s degree plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in research within the industry;;
  • Established researcher(R3): Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or a master’s degree plus a minimum of 7 years of experience in research within the industry;
  • Experience in one or more of the following: machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, scientific machine learning, image analysis, uncertainty quantification, verification and validation (V&V), computational statistics;
  • Programming skills in Python using at least several of the standard Data Science tools and libraries: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas or others;
  • Interest in participating in research projects, involving a wide variety of stakeholders;

Data spaces are a highly innovative area that is gaining increasing popularity at both the European and regional levels as a key element of the future data-driven economy. The developers will be involved in an international project in collaboration with two of the most prestigious research institutes in Europe: Norway’s SINTEF Institute and Ireland’s INSIGHT Institute. The project’s aim is to build a knowledge transfer framework between the partners and develop a visionary scientific strategy to enhance research capacity in the field of data space interoperability. Junior Researcher (Level 1)(R1) at GATE Institute for Big Data for a Smart Society

Data spaces are a highly innovative area that is gaining increasing popularity at both the European and regional levels as a key element of the future data-driven economy. Data spaces provide an environment that facilitates secure and trusted data exchange between participants and offer a comprehensive framework encompassing the technological, business, and organizational aspects of this exchange. The researchers will be involved in an international project in collaboration with two of the most prestigious research institutes in Europe: Norway’s SINTEF Institute and Ireland’s INSIGHT Institute. The project’s aim is to build a knowledge transfer framework between the partners and develop a visionary scientific strategy to enhance research capacity in the field of data space interoperability. The project’s outcomes will be applied to drive innovations in areas of significant social and economic importance.

Applicants for this position should have experience in the field of information technology and an interest in developing expertise in semantic interoperability for data spaces. Knowledge and skills in semantic technologies and data sharing are an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts applied research in the field of semantic interoperability for data spaces;
  • Utilizes technologies and tools for knowledge representation and management in various application areas;
  • Participates in applying research results to innovative solutions;
  • Engages in continuous professional development and participates in training events and knowledge exchange;
  • Prepares presentations to promote research outcomes at national and international levels;
  • Contributes to the preparation of high-impact scientific publications.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, software engineering, or a related technical field;
  • Experience in the field of semantic technologies is an advantage;
  • Ability to collaborate and work in teams with international partners;
  • Motivation for professional development and enthusiasm for research work;
  • Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to present research results (and their value);
  • Fluency in English.
