Professor Sylvia Ilieva, Director of the GATE Institute, was among the participants at the conference “Education 4.0: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and the Digital Future with Erasmus+”, organized by the Human Resource Development Centre on April 24 at Inter Expo Center.
Together with Albena Spassova (Founder of EdTech Cluster), Vera Petkanich (Junior Achievement) and Georgi Karamanev, Prof. Ilieva shared her vision on the application of artificial intelligence in education and the added value that the Erasmus+ program brings and can continue to bring. She also emphasized the importance of developing critical thinking and creativity among young people.
“At GATE, we develop technologies and apply them so that we are ready for the future – and to help shape it. Technology is already present in education in many countries. Bulgaria is on that path as well. The use of artificial intelligence, virtual classrooms, simulations – these are all already a reality. The active participation of all parties in the educational process – schools, universities, state institutions, parents, businesses, and we as scientists and researchers – is a shared responsibility. Personalized learning is the way to unlock the potential of every young person,” prof. Ilieva highlighted.
